Can mentoring support me?
Mentoring is a peer-to-peer support approach offering both mentor and mentee the opportunity to share their varied experience ideas and challenges to find solutions and explore new ways of working.
Above all, it is an opportunity to talk to someone in a trusted and safe space who understands the context within which you work and can give you the benefit of their own insights and knowledge. It is particularly helpful for emerging or new-in-post leaders.
Our research within the North Yorkshire voluntary and community sector has demonstrated a demand for mentoring and leaders are coming forward to offer the benefit of their experience through mentoring to others.
We are continuing to talk to both established and emerging leaders about how best to set up a peer-led mentoring service that works for you. We are also exploring opportunities for 1:1 and group coaching through the leadership hub.
