A Community First Yorkshire event

Winning the Lottery – Reaching Communities Funding Masterclass

Event aims

How do you submit an eye-catching, outstanding application and stand out from the crowd to secure that grant?

Applications for the National Lottery Community Fund are ongoing.

Competition for funding will be tough as applications are now open to wider community projects that are working to mitigate the impact of the cost-of-living crisis or rebuild and grow after the pandemic*.

Our funding expert, Nicky Ruddick, will talk you through the criteria for the new Reaching Communities funding programme and the application process. There will be a question and answer session as part of the workshop

*Please be aware that criteria for grant content may change.

This Zoom workshop will help you present your organisation and submit a high quality funding application.

At the end of the session you will:

  • have a greater knowledge and understanding of lottery funding.
  • increase  your chances of securing a lottery grant.

The interactive live workshop will be delivered over Zoom.

This is one of our most popular training workshops, please book early to avoid disappointment.

What will you learn?

Nicky will take you through the steps to submitting a strong Reaching Communities submission to help you increase your success rate. She will help you:

  • Understand what organisations and projects can be funded
  • Understand how applications are assessed
  • Learn the common reasons for rejection
  • Understand outcomes and indicators for your project
  • How to effectively consult beneficiaries  to develop your project
  • How to ensure your project is properly costed.

We are asking that you pose generic questions during the Q&A session to keep the discussion relevant to the whole group.

Who should attend?

If you’re a voluntary or community organisation seeking project funding above £10,000 and you want your application to be successful, this is the workshop for you.
