How can you support the mental health of your volunteers? If you are a volunteer co-ordinator for your organisation in North Yorkshire, you are welcome to join our Volunteer Co-ordinator’s Network. At our next meeting we will explore the benefits of proactive mental health support for volunteers.
Who should attend
This a network meeting for volunteer co-ordinators across North Yorkshire to network and share information, advice, tips and thoughts on all aspects of volunteer management.
What will you learn?
At our next Volunteer Co-ordinator Network meeting we will be focussing on ‘supporting volunteer mental health’. Post-pandemic, organisations are more likely to be supporting volunteers with their mental health.
We will hear from Gemma O’Connell, Mental Health Support Worker from Action Towards Inclusion (ATI) at Orb, who will discuss supporting people with mental health into volunteering and considerations for organisations to become more inclusive. Lizzie Clapham, from Community First Yorkshire will explore recognising and supporting volunteers with their mental health.
After a short break you can explore the topic further by joining other volunteer co-ordinators in one of three facilitated break out rooms. The three breakouts will cover; protecting your own mental health, supporting volunteers with a diagnosed mental health illness and a mini mental health surgery on current challenges you may be facing with managing volunteers.
If you have any specific questions you would like to put to the network, please submit these before the meeting.
