A Community First Yorkshire event

North Yorkshire Reuse Network

Single re-usable bag

There’s a growing ambition for people in North Yorkshire to reuse more and waste less.

Does your organisation work in the reuse arena? Are you interested in ramping up the green agenda and representing the vital impact that reuse can have on a circular economy?

If so, please join our meeting in Malton to discuss a range of potential opportunities for inspiration, collaboration and partnership working.

We’re hosting this session with Circular Malton and Norton CIC to bring together like-minded VCSE organisations and groups. The aim is to explore how we can have a greater impact and move towards a more sustainable future and what needs to be done to make this happen.

Circular Malton and Norton aim to “embrace a strategy of empowering the community from the ground up, advocating for changes which will be environmentally and socially beneficial, whilst making sense economically.”  They will explain why market towns are ideal to tackle challenges, realise opportunities and make things happen by sharing their approach to becoming the UK’s first circular economy market town.

Who should attend?

This event is open to any voluntary organisation or community group (e.g. charity, social enterprise, CIC, CIO) working in or with an interest in reuse with operations in York and North Yorkshire.

What will you learn?

The aims of the Reuse Network meetings are to:

  • Share news, information and knowledge
  • Encourage joined up approaches to reuse throughout North Yorkshire and to work in a spirit of collaboration not competition
  • Facilitate conversations about potential partnership working and a forum for opportunities to be shared and discussed
  • Build connections with other local organisations to strengthen resilience in the sector.

About the host

The meeting will be hosted by Community First Yorkshire with Sue Jefferson and Andrew Riley from Circular Malton and Norton CIC.
