A Community First Yorkshire event
Neurodiversity and the Outdoors
This training session is designed to provide participants with an understanding of neurodivergence and to equip you with the tools and strategies needed to create inclusive and accessible outdoor experiences. Participants will explore the diverse ways neurodivergent individuals experience and navigate the world, with a focus on fostering environments where everyone feels welcome and supported.
The session includes a guided walk, offering the opportunity to experience practical accessibility considerations in real time. Attendees will also take part in activities led by neurodivergent leaders, who will share their expertise and lived experiences. The activities will be tailored to demonstrate best practices in planning and implementing outdoor initiatives that are both inclusive and empowering. By the end of the training, attendees will leave with actionable insights and strategies to make outdoor spaces more accessible for all.
