How to Diversify Your Charity Board

Event aims

Join national trustee recruitment and diversity charity, Getting On Board, for a practical workshop about how charities can diversify their trustee boards, and ensure that their new trustees are set up to succeed.

Only a third of trustees are women, 8% are people of colour and one third are under 50.

50% of charities report that their board does not reflect the communities they serve; and 74% of charities struggle to find the trustees they need.

Why is this? What could improved board diversity do for charities? What are the tried and tested practical actions you can take to recruit and retain diverse trustees? And how can you ensure that when your new trustees join the board, they are set up to contribute rather than be excluded by often unintentional behaviours?

This live, interactive training will be delivered over Zoom.

Who should attend?

This workshop is particularly aimed at staff or volunteers of small to medium sized charities.

Please note this training is aimed at organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.
