What makes a really great trustee? It’s not just about bringing your passion to support a good cause – you also need to understand the basics of governance, legal and financial requirements and the different roles in your organisation.

This live, interactive training addresses community resilience and will give you a clear understanding of the role of a trustee in practice, and help you develop the skills you need to enhance your board performance.

  • The roles of ‘trustee, director and management committee’
  • Voluntary and community sector legal structures
  • Governance and the key principles of good governance
  • Trustee legal duties and responsibilities
  • How to make the split between management and governance work.

This training will increase confidence in your organisation by ensuring that trustees are up to date with the latest requirements and can demonstrate this in their work. It builds capacity by helping to identify strengths and further areas for development. It also improves capability by ensuring that the principles of good governance and legal duties and responsibilities are evident in your work.
