Introduction to DBS products and functions

This is a free DBS workshop, delivered in partnership with Community First Yorkshire, that’s designed to provide an introduction to DBS products and functions.

The hour-long session will cover:

  • the role of the Disclosure and Barring Service
  • DBS checks and role eligibility, including levels of check and workforce
  • how ‘regulated activity’ with children and adults is defined and what this means in practice
  • organisational duties and responsibilities in regards to referring to the DBS
  • the DBS barring process and the consequences of being placed on one or both barred lists
  • how to get support from DBS.

Who should attend?

Please note this training is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and groups based in North Yorkshire or delivering services within North Yorkshire.

The session is delivered live by the DBS Outreach Adviser for Yorkshire & The Humber.
