The purpose of this workshop is to walk you through the planning stage of your community led housing project. If you’re unsure of the intricacies of planning permission, who to involve at the planning stage or where to get the services you need, then this course will be invaluable to you.
Who should attend?
This workshop is designed for anyone wanting to understand more about the planning stages of a community led housing project. You may have just acquired a site, or be looking to the pre application stages of development, but this is also of interest to anyone who wants to develop their overview of the whole community led housing process.
What will you learn?
The session will cover the following areas:
- Which professionals are involved
- Engagement with stakeholders
- Local planning policy and process
- Invitations to tender
- What costs could be associated at this stage?
- What possible funding is available?
There will be an informative, factual presentation by an accredited advisor followed by an inspiring talk by Anurag Verma from The Rural Urban Synthesis Society. There will also be a Q&A session after the two speakers.
We think it’s important to demonstrate success and therefore we include speakers with lived experience of the community led housing process, many of whom are now living in the homes they helped create.
About the workshop lead
The workshop will be delivered by Peter Hirschfield, community led housing accredited advisor with Community Led Homes North Yorkshire & East Riding, and Anurag Verma from The Rural Urban Synthesis Society.
