A Community First Yorkshire event

Chairing With Success

Event aims

The chair of a board of trustees can be an exciting and fulfilling role – it is vital they are equipped to do their job well.

Whether you are newly appointed Chair of Trustees, or looking to improve your performance with a fresh perspective, this training will equip you with the essential knowledge and skill-set to fulfil your role successfully.

The chairperson of a Voluntary, Community, Social Enterprise sector organisation is responsible for the smooth running of meetings, allowing all individuals to have their say, and for guiding the organisation’s work towards the aims set out by the governing document. The chair has a critical influence on a board’s style, composition, balance and performance.

Each chair has a different style and there is not a single formula for success; the factor common to top chairs is the ability to adapt their approach to the circumstances and the people they find themselves working with.

This live, interactive workshop will be delivered over Zoom.
