A Community First Yorkshire event
Canva 101: ace the Canva basics to boost your marketing and more
Running a charity or small business requires you to be a Jack of all trades. As well as delivering your much-needed service, you also need to show the world what you can offer. That often means creating stunning visuals to both grab attention and articulate what you’re about. Without an in-house graphic designer or the funds for agency support, it can feel daunting.
Enter Canva – simple, intuitive software to help people create a range of imagery and graphics for any use within their organisation. And better yet, it’s free.
This interactive workshop will show you how to use Canva to create basic graphics for your social media, posters, reports and much more.
We’ll explore:
- How to set up your Canva account with your team, projects and brand kit
- How to create social media posts and videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube videos)
- How you can use Canva outside social media (presentations, flyers, etc)
- How to create an infographic
- How to get a free Canva Pro account for a charity
Join us for a hands-on workshop designed specifically for charities and non-profit organisations looking to elevate their visual content. This session will introduce you to the fundamentals of Canva—it’s aimed at total beginners, so come with an open mind and all your questions.
During this interactive workshop, attendees will:
- Learn the basics of Canva’s interface and essential design tools.
- Discover how to create impactful social media graphics, flyers, and presentations.
- Practise real-time design techniques in a guided working session.
- Leave with the confidence and skills needed to create content.
- Get tips on how to receive a free Canva Pro account through your organisation
- We want you to leave with a handful of branded templates ready to use for your social media, as well as the confidence to dive into Canva and explore how it can further professionalise your organisation.
Before this session, we ask that you set up a Canva free account for your organisation, and have that open and ready for the workshop. Thank you.
